THE COMMERCIAL VIEW
What this route is designed to address
Where a viable borrower lacks sufficient conventional security, an approved Provider may make an eligible Security Note available under a defined contract and term. The lender assesses the borrower and the Note; independent blocking and custody support the agreed control arrangements.
Conditions worth exploring
- A credible borrowing requirement and repayment plan
- Collateral value generally from €5 million equivalent
- Borrower can meet the agreed pre-disbursement payments when due
What to prepare first
- Commercial case and loan use
- Required currency, amount and tenor
- Repayment model and ownership
- Evidence of financial readiness for documented costs
The Provider supplies collateral access, not cash. The borrower remains responsible for the loan and its repayment.
Points to clarify early
Does the Provider invest cash into the company?+
No. The Provider makes an eligible Security Note available for a defined term under an Offering Contract; a separate lender may advance the loan against accepted security.
When does a borrower pay a booking fee?+
Only if the applicant accepts the Formal Term Sheet and decides to book the transaction. There is no obligation to proceed if the formal terms do not meet expectations.
